Everyone wins means everyone.
We want this website and our building to work for every guest.
Rainey's Arcade wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or speech input.

Our commitment
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. To be straightforward: we consider this site partially conformant. Most of it meets that standard and some parts do not yet. The gaps we know about are listed below. Accessibility is ongoing rather than a project that finishes.
What is built into this site
- A skip link. Pressing Tab when a page loads offers a "Skip to content" link.
- Descriptions for images. Photographs carry written descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they add no noise.
- Readable contrast. Text and controls meet the contrast the standard asks for.
- Clear structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists so a screen reader can move through them in a logical order.
- Labelled forms. Every field has a visible label.
Display preferences
Every page on this site has an accessibility button that opens a panel of display settings. You can change text size, line height and letter spacing, switch to a higher-contrast or inverted colour scheme, mute or remove colour, use a more readable typeface, enlarge the cursor, turn on a reading guide or reading mask, pause animations, and highlight links and headings. There are also one-tap presets for common needs.
Your choices are saved in your own browser and are remembered the next time you visit. Nothing is sent to a server, no account is needed, and no cookies are set.
These settings are a convenience, not a substitute for building the site properly. The structure, labelling, keyboard support and contrast described above are built into the pages themselves, and this site is meant to work with your own screen reader, magnifier or browser settings whether you use that button or not. If something here does not work for you, that is a fault we want to fix — please tell us using the details below.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you where the gaps are than claim there are none. As of the date below:
- Testing by hand is not finished. The pages have passed automated checks, but we have not yet finished testing every page with a keyboard alone and with a screen reader. Until that is done we cannot promise every menu and form works without a mouse. If one does not, call us and we will handle it by phone.
- Maps and directions. The directions links open Google Maps, which is run by another company. Our address is 101 N. 4th St., Atchison, KS 66002, and we are glad to give directions by phone.
- Facebook and Instagram. Our social pages are run on those companies' sites and follow their accessibility, not ours. Anything we post there, we can tell you about by phone.
- Motion. Some pages use moving decoration. The display settings above can pause it, but we have not confirmed that every animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.

Tell us about a problem
If you hit a barrier on this website we want to hear about it. Your feedback tells us what to fix first. Please include, if you can: the page you were on, what you were trying to do, what happened, and the device or assistive technology you were using.

How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared on October 3, 2026, after automated checks of every public page for page structure, headings, image descriptions, form labels and contrast. Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing is still to come, and this statement will be updated when it is done. It is reviewed when the site changes materially.
